With very little fanfare the Fifth Annual Weasel Award Poll results have been released. The totally unscientific, but almost completely accurate, poll is the brainchild of Scott Adams, best known for the comic strip Dilbert. With over 40,000 people voting here are the top vote getters.
Weaseliest Pundit/Reporter: Michael Moore
Weaseliest Celebrity: Tom Cruise
Weaseliest Sports Person: Barry Bonds
Weaseliest Organization: The Republican Party
Weaseliest Industries: Oil
Weaseliest Company: Haliburton
Weaseliest Country: United States (beating out North Korea by 11 votes)
Weaseliest Politician: George W. Bush
While I always enjoy this poll, and it is just for fun, I wonder about the voters.
At first glance, picking Bush and the US would make you think they were liberal Democrats. But then why would they pick Michael Moore by a 2-1 advantage over Rush Limbaugh? And Moore just barely beat out that liberal bastion The New York Times. Then again, they pick Oil as the weaseliest industry but Exxon comes in 3rd for weaseliest company.
Then again, maybe Scott just made all this up.
